A highly valued industry publication, eeNews Analog, has announced its annual list of the most noteworthy analog, MEMS and sensor startups to follow this year, and Spectral Engines is making an appearance on the list for the first time in its history. The eeNews Analog is a part of eeNews Europe, a combined print and online publication developed to serve the European B2B electronics industry. Owned by European Business Press SA, eeNews Europe has the broadest editorial team in the industry in Europe.
Spectral Engines CEO Jarkko Antila and the whole team is proud and excited to be in the TOP 20 of startups to follow in 2018.
“The launches of our NIRONE products in 2017 created a buzz both inside the photonics industry and also around it, making way for material sensing solutions in all kinds of industries and their applications”, Antila says. “I also had the chance to speak about the future of circular economies and the possibilities of spectral sensors and big data during last year’s Slush, the biggest startup event in Europe. It feels good to get recognition in the extremely competitive environment of the start-up scene. Only a small percentage of startups make their way out of the funding rounds and start manufacturing their actual product. Our hard work, years of research and development is truly starting to pay off, and we are looking forward to the future as well.”
EeNews Analog notes in its list that “sensor companies are gaining in number and significance alongside the Internet of Things”, and the next product of Spectral Engines will be diving headfirst into this particular area of the sensor solution world, as it will be completely IoT-compatible. The newest addition to the NIRONE product family, the NIRONE Scanner Platform, including intelligent cloud computing and advanced algorithms, will be launched at the end of January 2018 in Photonics West, the world’s largest annual event for the photonics, laser, and biomedical optics industries.
