Year 2017 has been a year of big changes and fast growth for Spectral Engines. Extensive investing in research and product development and the accelerating growth of business are sternly making Spectral Engines well known worldwide, and the company’s turnover is projected to treble in 2018.
After launching the NIRONE product family earlier this year, winning the first prize in the European Commission’s Food Scanner competition and receiving a 2.4M€ funding from the European Union, Spectral Engines decided to double its workforce from 15 to more than 30 employees by recruiting new talents and experienced experts to their team. The first round of recruitments is coming to an end, and 6 new people will be starting at Spectral Engines during November and December. The recruitments, increasing demand for larger product development spaces and the constant flow of new business opportunities incited the need for bigger headquarters in Helsinki and a new office in Oulu.
The Helsinki office, located in Kutomo Business Park, will serve as a home base and an innovation hub. The business park is known for its variety of residents working in a vast spectrum of business sectors, spanning from software companies to businesses building IT-environments. The office will be completely renewed, equipped with more space for meetings and interacting as well as more space for product development, with its interior design reflecting the Spectral Engines brand image.
Earlier this year, Spectral Engines’ office in Oulu moved to the heart of the Technopolis area, famous for its concentration of thousands of top experts and leading development environments in the fields of mobile technology, technical innovations, services, and commerce. The area provides excellent opportunities for networking and sparring with other leaders and scientists from a vast variety of industries.
The grand opening of the new and improved Helsinki headquarters will be on November 28th (for invitees only). In the opening celebration, we will also host a live stream on our Facebook page of the reveal and world premiere of our renewed NIRONE Device.
