Spectral Engines is a new European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC) member. EPIC is a non-profit association with its headquarters located in Paris, France. It has a mission of building solidarity and sustainable growth for photonics companies and increasing recognition of photonics as a strategic technology, building business revenues, and creating employment opportunities for scientists and engineers. EPIC serves the photonics community with a regular series of workshops, market studies and partnering. It fosters a vibrant photonics ecosystem by maintaining a strong network and acting as a catalyst and facilitator for technological and commercial advancement. EPIC is an industry association with a large network and maintains the European photonics database. The main focus areas of EPIC include various photonics technologies, such as LEDs and OLEDs for lighting, optical fiber telecommunications, laser manufacturing, sensors, photovoltaics and photonics for life sciences.
Spectral Engines decided to join EPIC, because we want to be involved in the development of the European photonics industry. We feel strongly that networking inside of the photonics industry is very important for us. We are continuously looking for new partnerships and customers to bring new photonics innovations faster to the market. EPIC, as a strong player in Europe, is a natural choice for us in this area. Spectral Engines hopes to be an active partner in the field of advanced spectroscopy and future material sensing in the European eco-system, following in EPIC’s footsteps.
EPIC is a well-known organization in the European photonics industry. 320 companies from 30 different countries, research organizations, universities and other industry stakeholders are members of the consortium. The members work together in executing the mission by proposing and implementing influential initiatives of significant impact on the industrial landscape. The strength of EPIC comes from its capacity to represent the European photonics industry with a clear and articulate voice. Industry associations such as EPIC have a key role to play in identifying market opportunities and in helping their members work together to capture the opportunities.
“Spectral Engines’ sensors are answering to a clear need for new, innovative sensors which are small, robust, inexpensive and intelligent, for bringing measurements from laboratories to field use. Infrared spectrometers are already in widespread use, thanks to their great accuracy and flexibility compared to chemical detectors”, announced Carlos Lee, Director General at EPIC in LinkedIn.
EPIC is owned by its members and managed by its Board of Directors from many different industries.
