Spectral Engines invests in OEM business development of US market

Spectral Engines is growing business development and sales force in the US. Steve Buckley joined our sales team in June and now we are proud to announce the addition of Kevin Kaye. Kevin has substantial experience in the spectrometer and analyzer business, joining us after over a decade at Ocean Optics, where he worked as a senior business development and sales manager. Kevin is based in Dunedin, Florida, in the Tampa / Clearwater coastal region, easily accessible to the eastern and southern parts of the United States. Kevin’s expertise in spectroscopy technologies brings a wealth of applications knowledge to our Spectral Engines team in the US.

Last year was extremely busy for Spectral Engines’ sales team in the US, and the pace will continue this year. In the first quarter alone, Steve and Kevin will be at three US-based trade show; Photonics West in SFO, IFPAC in Washington, D.C. and Pittcon in Chicago. They are very excited to promote the innovative Spectral Engines sensor concepts for industrial and consumer applications.

“I and Kevin are very impressed with the technology platform of Spectral Engines. We share the vision that the use of spectroscopy will be expanded into completely new areas where existing spectrometers have not been used due to size and price point. We, as a part of the team, are delighted to promote our existing products, but also to develop partnerships with US-based companies for product development. We surely see a huge potential for miniaturized spectral sensors in the US market.” Steve commented.

Kevin explains why he has been so excited about the start at Spectral Engines. “Existing grating-based spectrometers and FT-NIR are increasingly being challenged by miniaturized and mass-produced MEMS products. When I visited the headquarters of Spectral Engines in Finland, I was really impressed by the innovativeness of Spectral Engines’ sensor products. I’m excited to serve Spectral Engines’ US customers with my spectroscopy background and help them to see the benefits of affordable sensor platforms. There are several industrial trends, like internet of farming, advanced industrial control systems, portable field inspection tools, and smart homes to name only a few where we have seen growing interest.”

“We will be thrilled to meet you at Photonics West (San Francisco), IFPAC (Bethesda, MD), and Pittcon (Chicago) – or to talk with you at any time. Please send an email to me or Steve if you like to book an appointment in advance. You are warmly welcome to visit us at our booth(s) and let’s chat more how we can help you expand your business with advanced spectral sensors!” Kevin continues.
