Spectral Engines at Science Photonics Fair 2016 with KLV Co.

Spectral Engines attended Science Photonics Fair 2016 which took place at Science Museum in Tokyo. Science Photonics Fair is an exhibition dedicated to Japanese and international photonics companies and it gathers attendees all over Japan. The show consists of IR technologies, optical thin film, optics, laser lighting, UV technologies and spectroscopy, of course. Totally Photonics Fair had 120 exhibitors mainly from Japan.

KLV Co. Ltd. presented our extensive product portfolio in several demos. Particularly, our new cost-effective and compact NM series for OEM system integrators and wireless NR-W raised a huge interest among visitors. Janne Suhonen and Masa Fukushima gave also a talk in same seminar about ”an Ultra-Compact Near-Infrared Spectral Sensor for Process and Portable Measurements”. The talk attracted totally 50 listeners which proves the interest for Spectral Engines’ MEMS-technology based spectral sensors.

KLV is a distributor company, founded 30 years ago, whose main products are light sources, optical parts and optical products. “We have been very satisfied with our collaboration with Spectral Engines. Spectral Engines’ products bring very powerful IR sensor into small size with very attractive price point. We have been impressed how fast Spectral Engines has been able to develop their new product families. 70-80% of our sales go to industrial OEM customers. So we see a perfect match between Spectral Engines miniaturized sensors and our customer portfolio” says KLV’s business development manager Toshiro Sugiyama.

Mr. Sugiyama continues “Trade show was a big success for us. Our booth was crowded all the time and we got extremely positive feedback from the visitors about our demos. Science Photonics Fair is one of our main event and we were proud to promote Spectral Engines’ miniaturized sensor in this show.”

Janne Suhonen, CCO of Spectral Engines, visited also at KLV’s office in Tokyo. He was positively surprised based on the meetings with KLV’s technical and sales staff. “I am really impressed the professionalism which I saw during my visit. KLV has a clear promotion strategy and strong customer portfolio in industrial OEM customers. And what’s more, they did extremely good show in Science Photonics Fair by showing several interesting demos there”, Janne Suhonen tells about his feelings after his journey.
